Is ‘Breaking Dawn’ to be 2 Films…Not So Fast!!
Earlier today DeadlineHollywood.com announced that Summit Entertainment is officially making ‘Breaking Dawn’ (the 4th and largest novel in the series) into 2 films. With filming starting in October and both films being shot back to back.
Only problem with this…Its not Official!!
Per GossipCop.com
The official word given to Gossip Cop from a rep for Summit is, “No decision has been made and as we have said all along we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.”
HOWEVER, a well-placed source tells Gossip Cop dividing Breaking Dawn into two pictures “is the direction that it’s going in.” We’re told that from a practical standpoint, separating the story into two parts and shooting back-to-back is what makes most sense.
Earlier reports seem to be fairly accurate when it comes to timing, specifically, that filming may begin in October.
Hopefully this means we will be getting some kind of official statement soon from Summit!!
‘Breaking Dawn’ Production Update!!!
I’m going to start this by saying this an a REAL update straight from producer Wyck Godfrey!!
According to interview in the LA Times Wyck states that filming could start as soon as Fall of 2010.
“When it was released in August 2008, fan reaction was intense and divided with some “Twi-hards” expressing confusion and dismay over a plot that involved *SPOILER ALERT* a recently graduated 19-year-old Bella giving birth to a half-human/half-vamp daughter named Renesmee, who grows much faster than the average mortal child and who possesses a unique way of communicating with those around her, clearly inherited from Dad’s side of the family.
Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the “Twilight” saga, admits that the creative team still doesn’t know how they’ll handle the character in the “Breaking Dawn” movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward — as either one or two installments — with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for “Breaking Dawn,” he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.
At the moment, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who’s penned all the “Twilight” movies, is working on the “Breaking Dawn” script(s). “It’s a work in process,” Godfrey said in an interview Friday. “The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic. If it’s not organic, I don’t think it will be done, and if it is, it will be. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ the whole section about Jacob… It’s a very long single movie if it does become a single movie.”

I’m sure 98% of the Twi-Fandom will agree with me that this should really be 2 movies. I can’t see them fitting all of ‘Breaking Dawn’ into one movie!!!
Breaking Dawn Casting Scams!!!
Twilight Lexicon just put up a post regarding all the online ads people are seeing in regards to the Breaking Dawn Casting.
I guess not everyone knows those ads are totally false.
To quote the Lex
“…Seriously, we’d love to be able to say that anyone with no experience stands a chance of being cast as Carmen or Tanya, but it’s not the case. Breaking Dawn is not currently casting. Those ads you see online are a total scam.”
Some companies are even going as far as posting ads on fansites Forums.
So, please do not believe all those ads, Breaking Dawn still has technically not even been green lit.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Casting Rumors
per Twilight Lexicon
“Over the weekend news broke on Twitter that there was supposedly casting information available on Breaking Dawn. The acting/casting blog that broke the story initially cited Lana Veenker (one of the people involved in the casting of the original Twilight movie) as being attached to the project as well as other people. They listed Lana’s casting office address, phone and email address.
We immediately thought that this info was slightly odd, because Lana is in frequent contact with us, and this is the kind of thing that she would have mentioned specifically or at least given a “heads up look for big news tomorrow” kind of thing.
So we contacted Summit and Lana to see what was what. Being a weekend, Summit didn’t respond until today, but Lana got back to us on Saturday stating “For the record, we have not yet been contacted by production about this possibility and have not been hired to provide casting services.”
So we Tweeted that update from Lana, and linked on Twitter to a blog post that she made about it. Moments after Lana posted on her blog that this was all news to her the blog that started the rumor suddenly deleted all references to Lana and another casting agent, but made no mention that the post was edited or previously contained incorrect info. Unfortunately, it seems that the incorrect info got out there and now Lana writes, “Can you help me put a stop to the onslaught of calls and emails we’re starting to receive and post a link on your site to my blog post nixing the Breaking Dawn casting rumors?”
So here’s the link to Lana’s blog and here’s the statement issued by Summit Entertainment, “Please disregard any information…regarding casting for BREAKING DAWN are both false[the links to the blog and their press release]” (We edited out the links to the site where the rumor started and a press release that site issued.)”
Clearing up BooBoo’s 3 Movie Statement

Last week the TwiVerse went into a little tizy after BooBoo Stewart (Seth Clearwater) stated that he was signed on for the next 3 Twilight Saga Films. This made everyone assume Breaking Dawn was going to be split into 2 parts!!!
Summit Entertainment sent the following statement out to clear up this little rumor
“We appreciate our young actor’s enthusiasm for the franchise and his role, but his comments about the number of films were unfortunately uninformed and not accurate. However, the fans should rest assured that we’re working with Stephenie Meyer to bring ‘Breaking Dawn’ to the big screen.”
There you go, straight from Summit’s mouth!!!
Twilight Lexicon also has a pretty good article up about all the recent ‘Breaking Dawn’ rumors.
